Porsche GT3



Now in its sixteenth year, the Porsche Carrera Cup  has provided many drivers with the springboard to greater things due to its high visibility on the racing calendar. The series is contested at several levels: Pro, Pro Am 1, Pro Am 2, Rookie and team level championships.

The cars are identical 911 (Type 991) GT3 Cup Car with 460hp and the results achieved are down to team preparation and driver skill. Team Parker Racing have a long established reputation as a championship winning team picking up their first title in 2003 and several more at both individual and team level.

This year Team Parker are fielding four competitors:-

Technical data

Engine
3,996 cm³ aluminium six-cylinder rear-mounted boxer engine.

Power
357 kW (485 hp).

Transmission
Porsche six-speed sequential dog-type gearbox.

Brake system
Six-piston aluminium monobloc racing brake callipers with ‘anti-knock back’ springs.

Suspension

Front axle:
McPherson suspension strut, adjustable for height, camber and toe
– forged and adjustable top mounts.
– electrohydraulic power steering with external control function for easy manoeuvring.

Rear axle:
– multi-link rear suspension, adjustable for height, camber and toe.
– forged top mounts.

Safety
Welded-in roll cage, FT3 safety fuel tank, fire extinguishing system.

The 911 GT3 Cup is faster, more durable, more efficient and even safer than the previous model. Its main purpose is to compete in Porsche one-make championships worldwide, such as Porsche Carrera Cup GB.

Porsche Carrera Cup GB is the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK. Competition is tough as the field of identical – and exhilarating – 485 hp 911 GT3 Cups place the focus on individual driver and team performance. Porsche Carrera Cup GB forms a key level of the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid, which has a proven track record of taking drivers to the very pinnacle of GT racing.
